You will even see a fast data transfer rate even if your Spinpoint Momentus disk is attached to an external USB interface. Your computer will see your Momentus as though it were a solid-state block device with this attachment. It can write to it like an SSD, and you could even use it as a custom external drive in this manner.Since it works with any brand of machine that has the right jack, you can use your HN-M101MBB with an Apple laptop. It is compatible with both hard and soft links as well as the new APFS file structure. Since it provides full support for Windows and Linux devices, you can use these drives with PC laptops too. Small form factor desktop PCs will also boot from a Momentus volume.Gamers will love the fact that the excellent I/O numbers from this disk translate into low lag during gaming sessions. Install a Spinpoint volume as a wall against lag deaths when playing competitive FPS titles on your laptop. They are great for preventing load glitches that occur during video cut scenes as well. If you are into open-source games or downloading games from the internet, then this disk has a few features that will help you as well. You can install it in a second bay and use it as an additional disk for games alone. Each time the device boots, it might be able to check the partition table for logical drives. If this is the case, then you can split the 1TB capacity into more than one volume. It is compatible with third-party Windows utilities that create large FAT32 volumes. It is also compatible with the mkdosfs command used by Linux.       No problem at all

      I received this hard drive and installed it myself. It started working immediately. I used my backup disk to reinstall everything to the original version and it works like a charm. Save me a ton of money. If I had known it was this easy and reasonable, I could have saved $1,300 because I had to purchase another laptop immediately after this laptops hard drive quit. I will definitely tell friends about this purchase.

      Check carefully before you buy

      The connector for the enclosure is completely different from my hard drive that I have this is 40 pin enclosure and 44 pin hard drive I didn't realize it was probably my fault I didn't research it well enough but I can't even use it I'm gonna try and find a hard drive that will help me to use it but as it is it's just gonna sit in my computer thing bag until I can find some use for

      Great bang for the buck.

      Arrived packaged well. Checked out 100% Cloned my laptop 750 Gig onto it and it came up perfectly after installing it. I have a lot more capacity now.

      Great for Karaoke laptops

      its a basic HD for stock. I take old business laptops and convert them for professional Karaoke. Part of the requirement for me is that there be no external drives. makes system more reliable and simple. the 1TB or 2TB 2.5" drives work great. They do not need to be solid state (much more expensive)
