Released by Lionsgate in October of 2010, 'Winter's Bone' stars Jennifer Lawrence and John Hawkes in a tale of deception and family ties. Directed by Debra Granik and based off of the novel by Daniel Woodrell, it is heralded by Roger Ebert as one of the best films released in 2010. Special features on this DVD include audio commentary by Debra Granik and Michael McDonough, an alternative opening scene, deleted scenes, music performed by Dickon Hinchliffe, 'The Making of Winter's Bone', and the theatrical trailer. Teenager Ree Dolly is forced to grow up fast as she has to care for her siblings and catatonic mother. engaging, serious. I've watched it over and over.
the main character Reed pushes thru diversity and her life circumstances raising her siblings, caring for her mother, looking for her drug making father, while finding out they may be losing their home.
