OUTSTANDING STORYTELLING!!
Stayed away from this cause wasn't interested in the title character, lol. But I discovered the show is REALLY more about Ghengis Khan & his illustrious court, the social & political machinations & there's lots of INCREDIBLE interpretations of ancient martial arts. The Asian actors & actresses are magnificent, emobodying their characters with emotional depth and exciting motivations. Most of the females who inhabit this world are badass while still being very graceful, poised and feminine, even sexy- while they assassinate or seduce, guide and instruct their male counterparts. Even the music is enthralling and the costumes are wonderful to behold. So I TOLERATE the title character who seems to just look confused and oily, a lot- LOL. But that is realistic and apprpiate considering he is a stranger in a strange land who has NO IDEA what he is dealing with. QUALITY SERIES that was cancelled because the production costs were were so HIGH for each episode. Believe it. Every episode is like watching a mini foreign film with Oscar worthy performances and scenery!!!! I cancelled my Netflix years ago because they stopped offering good entertainment for mature adults. This show has everything- family rivals, political intrigue, nudity, romance, riveting action seuences and suspenseful drama that keeps viewers intersted in the characters.

my kind of movie
I enjoy period piece shows, and this one has it all. History, romance, spectacle, etc. Can't wait to get season 2

Still watching has great potential. Hoping to go ahead and get season 2 when I can find it.
