Strange Movie
Seems like everyone in this movie has psychological and relationship issues. maybe the the planet Melancholia had something to do with it (similar to how people react during a full moon). Not much action going on - just a bunch of talking (drama). very good special effects of Melancholia as it approaches Earth. The ending was touching Not Kirsten Dunst's best movie, although, she is attractive in a wedding gown

Deep - Dark - Different
Melancholia is more of a story of human emotions than a science fiction film. If you like something that is dark, different and unusual you'll like this movie. Charlotte Gainsbourg is sexy in any movie, Kirsten Dunst role is that of a mentally ill woman and she has two nude scenes in this movie. If you like a happy ending you won't like this film. Very nice film for a dark rainy day.

A double meaning of the title...worth watching
A bit dry at times, but the scenes of the planet and its forthcoming collision were really good!!!

A must have movie A+
Original sereal story of dis functional siblings and how thy have different ways of dealing with the last days on a domed world in a word yeng and yang personality's great well written screenplay and stellar performances. This is not a low brow action filled end of the world movie so if that's what your expecting do not buy this dvd

unusual, and a unique ending
Interesting artsy film. Good acting, Some may find it slow. It's about depression and the end of the world.

I LOVE IT. I HATE IT. I BOUGHT IT.
I LOVE this film. I HATE this film. It's filled with life and filled with darkness. There is a start of a married life and the literal end of the world. There's hope and there's complete loss of hope. It is, in fact, the very essence of Melancholy. It is a terrible thing to think you may be wrong about that terribly wrong future fate, only to realize you were, scientifically, correct. Acting: Perfection Directing: Astounding Buildup: Scary Letdown: Catastrophic SPFX: Jaw-dropping Like many great movies and novels, there is a long exposition followed by a buildup and a bludgeoning denouement. DO NOT BUY THIS FILM IF YOU EXPECT A HAPPY ENDING. But you WILL watch it for the same reason you'd watch a fatal car accident in slow motion. But for whatever reason you watch it, you will get to see brilliance.
