A beautifully rendered animated film with a story too far-fetched for one viewer.
The Red Turtle is a beautifully rendered animated film, done with taste and artistic restraint. It opens with a man struggling to survive giant rolling waves, then to be cast ashore. The only being that shows interest in him is a very large turtle which for reasons of its own, sabotages every effort of the man to escape the island. It is this and further developments of the story which I found hard to digest.
