It reads more like and adventure story than a historical novel.
For anybody interested in the reconstruction period of Florida history, this book reads like a timeline from the 1860's through the 1960's. It is well written and makes compelling reading. While this book is the fictional history of a few family's. It is actually nearly completely based on factual info about settlers to Florida and how the lived.
