Knipex - The best pliers
I use these in place of combo wrenches now for most small jobs. The force of your hand gripping is transferred into clamping down and there is no wiggle. These will not slip and are good to go with any kind of human strength you can manage. I still like box wrenches and ratcheting wrenches for automotive work where you need a bit more leverage to break stuff loose, but these are amazing. Check the xs or 150 size for carrying in the pocket. A great suppliment to a leatherman. These conoare favorable to the wiha I have. Very high quality and unique tool
These aren’t just your basic “water pump pliers”. They have a much finer adjustment of the pivot point, and then a geared motion to give a shorter travel but much higher pinch force on the jaws. The jaws have smooth faces, which makes them great for jobs where you don’t want to damage the surface of the work piece. The adjustment allows you to set the gap pretty precisely, so the reduced travel of the jaws doesn’t cause an issue. AN wrench alternative?
