For me JVC is a name for quality.
My first camcorder was a JVC which used tape cassettes which were excellent quality and hard wearing. Although my disc camcorder is not JVC I have found that their discs a the same quality as the tapes of many years ago. I also have a memory card camcorder but have not seen any JVC cards (yet ?).
