Dorothy Dandridge could really act!
And, she could act at singing very well. I think I had read that her and Belafonte's singing voices were dubbed by pro singers. Further, she was quite attractive. Opera buffs may enjoy this movie. It's a remake of Carmen, basically. The young Harry Belafonte was no slouch as an actor. When a kid, I had known of only his singing prowess. There was more to him than vocal chops.
