Very good film
I have all of the studio ghibli films on dvd and I think this is as good as it gets. Good story and you really care about the two main girls and what is really going on. I would say that this film is very sad and happy at the same time and the end is not unexpected but still very good. As good as any studio ghibli film.

Lovely Film!!!... but...
I've read the book many many times. This in my opinion doesn't quite reach its' spirit. However! That said, it is still a wonderful piece of Ghibli and very very enjoyable!!! My only reason for not 5*ing it, is because I'm such a fan of the book...so I'm a tad bias there. Lovely film tho'... I Do recommend buying it. :)
