Mr. Holland's Opus is a 5-star movie that will always be relevant.
Mr. Holland's Opus is a "must see" for all teachers and music lovers. This is one of the best movies EVER. Don't be surprised if you're in tears during the last five minutes. It shows that one person, who truly cares and is passionate about what they do, can make a positive difference. This teacher inspired a multitude of kids during his 30-year career. There are no words to describe this movie accurately. Just buy it and watch it. It's a 5-star presentation.

Love it!
A awesome movie! Liked everything about it! I’m a big Richard Dreyfuss fan & he played his character excellently like it was made just for him!!

Music to your ears!
One of Richard Dreyfuss' best (from an illustrious career)! His co-star in the movie, Glenne Headly was one of fabulous actresses we lost in a horrible 2017. She was as well, perfect in her role. Overall, a great reminder of how the arts (and passionate teachers) touch us all!

A well done & clean story
I am a music teacher and can definitely relate to the story line here. I share much of the storyline as seen in this film...with the exception of the underlying opus. A student of mine gave this CD to me a few years ago and it had a profound impact on me. The characters presented a realistic performance. The highlight for me was the performance of th opus at the end and "Rowena's" rendition of "Someone to watch over me". I would give this production TEN stars if I could.

Heart renching feel good movie
Can't think of any cons. Having lived in the years that film described and seeing the arts programs cut in schools I can relate to this film of the life a music composer/teacher who has a deaf son. Good movie rates a A+++ from me.

Great Family Movie
Love this movie. Shows how life happens even when it iss not exactly what we wanted we are given chances to influence others that we share our life with.

Great movie!
The story itself is very good, even what I would consider a great movie! But it is labeled and sold as widescreen, when it really is "letterbox" widescreen, and not what I thought I was buying. I have many widescreen DVDs that are not letterbox, so am I missing something here?

An old favorite!
I saw this movie many years ago, and I really loved it. I recorded it on VHS but decided, finally, to get a DVD of it. I wish it were available in Blu-ray, but that is neither here nor there.

Inspirational
Life is what happens when you are busy working - how true. Mr. Holland never expected to spend his career teaching music in high school, but before he knew it he was retiring. Luckily, his impact on students was beyond inspirational. Loved this movie. Highly recommend it for all.
