The Tough Guy Cop That Plays A Little Too Rough
I have recently become fascinated with the old style, Hollywood movies known as film noir. The stories are very good, they feature top-notch actors, and the directors are some of the most famous in Hollywood history. "Where The Sidewalk Ends" is an excellent example of the genre. It has all the elements of a great, crime melodrama. It's about a criminal hating cop who accidentally kills one his suspects, in the line of duty. The ensuing cover up becomes like quicksand for the guy.

Film Noir at its best.
Love film noir! Dana Andrews and Gene Tierney are great together. Have loved them together in other movies too. The storyline is tough, dark and realistic at times with a redeeming outcome.

Too Tough Cop
Too tough cop (Dana Andrews) accidently kills a suspect. He covers up the murder by use of his police powers but ultimatley gets found out. Good film noir also starring Gene Tierney.
