    Matt still keeping law and order in Dodge City.

    This set covers the first months of 1960. If you are a huge marshal Matt Dillon fan then these early-season (Season 5) half hour episodes are for you. When they went to one hour episodes in season 7 in Sept, 1961, all too often the focus was on guest characters and veered away from Matt, sometimes too much which would be even more prevalent as the 1960s went on. Here you have Matt handling each task in his own way. Sometimes tragedy and gun play are averted but other times not. That was life in the old West.

    Coffee with Chester

    I always love my Gunsmoke. Since I was a kid( and that's been quite a spell pilgrim), marshall Dillion has been one of my hero figures. I binge watch on Gunsmoke,it's my favorite. There were a lot of great westerns on tv back in the day, but they didn't have Matt Dillon.

    Matt Dillon!!

    I was too young to appreciate Gunsmoke until the later years. These early years are so interesting and well written. James Arness is a better actor than I remembered too. I love his portrayal of Marshal Matt Dillon and how he protects the town and loves Miss Kitty. He's a handsome man! Love these episodes.

    Great Set

    We purchased six Gunsmoke DVD sets total. All are new and wrapped and unopened.. We are only into our first set. Perfect Love it.

    So pleased!!

    Extremely pleased with my purchase of the first six seasons of the Gunsmoke series. A true classic. My favorite Western of all time.
