Threatened by a mineshaft-dwelling terror, the inhabitants of Earth must depend on Jon Pertwee's Doctor Who to save them from an unspeakable fate. The time-travelling finger seems to be pointing in the direction of the mysterious 'boss' of nearby Global Chemicals factory.

The Guardian - The Green Death stands out as one of the most remarkable stories of the entire canon. It does all the stuff Doctor Who does brilliantly but it's also one of the most fiercely political stories the show has ever seen.

    Dr. Who, “ the green death “

    Although having watched Dr. Who from its earliest days . My main reason for buying this episode was because a friend of mine Roger Nott was in it and as he is now getting on in years I thought it would amuse him to receive a a copy for Christmas. Having sales that for its time and budget it is one of the better and “ for a youngster “ more frightening ones.

    Ahead of its time

    Although made in 1970, the issues it covers here are very much current in the 2020's. Destruction of our planet through pollution and depletion of natural resources. Multi national companies such as big petroleum caring more about their profits than the fate of the environment. Development of solar energy, wind power and heat pumps. Development of alternative food sources using fungi. Watch the added interviews included as extras with this DVD. Amazing foresight.

    Great DVD.

    I haven't watched this episode of Doctor Who since I was a kid, when I found the maggots really scary. Its still a great story today fifty years later.

    I find the old doctor who episodes rather funny these days but the stories are still good and very entertaining takes me back to when i was kid
