Pure art
This book is extraordinarily painted by the genius Gregg Staples, with a gripping action story and a beautiful design. Wish I could find more like this, but it seems it's the only book Mr. Staples has painted. Don't miss it.

A Modern Dredd Classic
Cinematic artwork, I would boldly state that this is by far the best and most notable artwork to come out from the 2000AD stable in the last 15 years, it has to be seen to be believed. Some of it has a photorealism which looks photoshopped but according to the artist in the book none of it is photoshop manipulated. The script is probably pedestrian for Wagner but serves it purpose, there's been a lot of criticism towards it I've read in other reviews about it's blandness, but I found it perfectly functional for a non-stop action movie type scenario, admittedly it lacks a lot of the satire or humour of other Wagner storylines and is not exactly cerebral but it services the art well and I thought this was the best Death/Dark Judges story since the "Judge Death Lives" storyline due to it's pure simplicity. I would say this was an essential purchase for all Dredd/2000AD fans and because there isn't a huge amount of continuity in it, it's also a pretty good pick up for the casual reader too.
