Read through the Bible easily and with better understanding.
This is a great way to actually read through the Bible from beginning to end. The narration helps set the context and gives an overview as to what follows. Various sections are grouped topically (i.e. the OT laws, Proverbs, Psalms, etc) which makes it easier to see key concepts. Sections from prophetic books and Psalms are put together with their contemporaneous accounts in the historical books which really helps tie things together. The Scripture itself is the NIV translation.

The Narrated Bible by F LaGard-Smith
This is a superb Chronological Bible, which has unfortunately now gone out of print. It uses the 1984 NIV, which I certainly prefer over the 2011 edition (although I am a KJV/NKJV/NASB man generally. I have several Chonological Study Bibles and putting the translation to one-side this one is certainly one of the best for devotional use. If you preferred a Chronological Bible that includes more histiory and cultural content then the Thomas Nelson Chronological Study bible is by far the best (Avaiable in NKJV and NIVr). Puccini

Love this, though unconventional... it's somewhat easier for me to get the context as the passages are arranged chronologically.
