Watch the temperature control
I have used this brand of sealing iron for many years. I did not rate it 5 star for only one reason. The temperature control is very easily changed and so you need to pay attention that is doesn't get too hot. Otherwise it works fine.

Works well, sometimes a heat gun isn't ideal.
NOTE: This will smoke, as in pour out nasty black smoke on initial use. Just for a brief moment then the drama is gone forever. It's the coating is all. Settings are marked with Fahrenheit and Celsius. Halfway on the dial is probably all you'll ever need. Nice for corners just large enough for flats. They included a little tin or aluminum stand also.

Hanger 9 sealing iron
This is the second hanger 9 sealing that I have...first one after a few years gave out. I was hoping the new one wouldn't have the same Problem that I put up with on the old one. Problem is the temperature Control creeps...will no stay set so if you are not watching it it will get too hot and ruin something. The old one and this new one both do or did this. When you are covering a big part sometimes you don' think to Check the setting and gets too hot. There is some problem with this tool. The tool itself works very good and I am using it frequently since I Built my own models.

Hangar 9 Sealing Iron
Great iron! Does the job well. Quick heating time. Accurately gets into tight corners, nooks and crannies. If I were the designer, I would reduce the distance between the handle and the iron by half. Otherwise it is just fine. Would recommend it to anyone in need of a good tool like this for their projects.

Hangar 9 heat sealing iron easy you
I bought the hanger 9 iron to add laminating film to my foam airplanes for added strength. It works great for that! With a little practice you can quickly learn how to keep the wrinkles out and put a nice finish on your final product. It has been a great addition to my scratch building tools.

Works good
Better design from ages ago. Multi curves make it more versatile. Only problem is control knob gets too hot to touch.

Works but temperature dial is not accurate.
It heats up and is somewhat close to the temperature dial , but the somewhat part is not so good. It heats up to under or over it's temperature dial so if you need something that is withing 30 degrees of what the temperature dial says forget it . I found it off by 40 degrees of what the temperature dial says and it's a little hard to get it to stabilize on a temperature , it tends to go within 30 degrees of a point up or down. IE it's not very accurate . But the head is nice and smooth so it works well if you have to press and move on a service .

Great Product!!
I use this product to get hot even temperature for transferring images to copper and silver. I've tried other irons, and they just don't keep a constant heat for very long. I recommend this iron for all crafters.

not using it for it's intent, but i love it!
i own a sandwich shop and i sell wholesale sandwiches in clear wrap to grocery stores and i use the iron to seal the wrap top and edges. this eliminates taping and having the corners from accidentally unraveling. i think it's meant for model airplanes, but if you do what i do it works perfectly!!!
