Based on a true story, ROSEWOOD takes place in a predominantly black Florida town in 1923. Essential Movie, bad DVD (flip over, mid-movie)
Rosewood is the true story of a tragic an horrifying slaughter of nearly an entire Florida town, based on the lie of one person .It truly is essential viewing, but why they chose to make it a flip-over disc is beyond me. It splits up both the movie and the special features. The movie itself is just over 2-hours and would have fit on one side of the disc, leaving the whole other side for the special features. Rosewood, the name of the town where all this tragedy happened is ironic.
Rosewood is an eye opening look at Jim Crow America. The fact that one woman could cause the amount of chaos, heartache, death, fear and racial hatred based on a lie is unbelievable. Especially considering it was done in an effort to hide the wounds from her adulterous lover. It was like the entire white community was laying in wait, poised for the first sign of any perceived mistake by a black that would allow their pent up racial hatred to erupt into retribution. Stepping back in history
This movie was very difficult to watch, as I had to deal with the racism of that era that has barely changed today. It is history and worth watching in the hopes that these issues never arise again. Double sided disc, so make sure you flip it over.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Two too much
The movie is good. The disc and case were in good condition. The only thing I don't like and wish was mentioned is that it's a two sides disc so you have to flip it in the middle of the movie (which isn't that long so I don't understand why).
