Definitely worth the price!
Absolutely love LOTR and to have the extended versions makes it even better! Wasn't sure it it was worth buying the extended dvds but honestly it's worth it, I didn't expect there to be anywhere near as much additional content as I thought but I was wrong, there's an absolute ton of additional scenes that don't change the story in any way shape or form but still makes an amazing franchise like this just even better!Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

A must have for Tolkien fans.
Excellent box set, especially the extended edition with directors shots etc. If you're not a Tolkein fan yet, try it, you may be pleasantly surprised. Great entertainment, wonderful story
Anyone who loves the story of The Lord of the Rings will love this extended film version yes I know some of the characters from the book have been left out but as a film people who have not read the book maybe encouraged to do so. The extended version explains things that the cinema film did not so the extra footage enhances the film. Each film is over 2 DVDs which is good as they are a long haul so with the break you can make yourself a cup of tea ! The clarity and sharpness of the picture and the sound quality on each DVD is very good. A masterful interpretation of Tolkien's greatest work.
I'm sure that, since their release, the three Lord of The Rings films have been discussed to death! I have to say, though, that, having read the books twice, years before, the shortened versions that were shown on the cinemas missed out some vital scenes that anyone who had NOT read the books would have struggled to understand how the characters got to where they did in the films, without the benefit of seeing the deleted scenes. This 'extended' (or more complete) version enables the audience to follow this rather complex tale far more easily than they would have been able to otherwise. I rate this trilogy as one of the best 3-part films ever made - and would say that, to get the storyline properly, you MUST watch this COMPLETE edition!Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

A must for every LOTR fan
I don't know why it took me almost two decades after the movie trilogy to get this box set but I'm glad I did. The artwork of the DVD covers and the DVD menus is superb. Not bad
I am quite happy with this, however, as the product is advertised as "like new", I expected it to arrive in a better condition. The box holding all the DVDs was damaged on the corners and on the base of the box. Also, only one of the three dvds were still sealed, and the guide that comes with each dvd was missing in the Two Towers box.
