The evolution of modern U. S. Navy destroyers
Dr. Friedman has authored many books on naval matters and ship design. All the ones that I have read are excellent. His style is informative, readable, and not overly technical except when it needs to be. His ship design books are especially helpful to me as a naval history enthusiast and model builder. The accompanying drawings and sketches are also most interesting and helpful, especially when he is showing how vessel designs evolve. It's a good read!

Excellent book to research USA Destroyers pre-1980
Lots of info for anyone who wants to know more about Destroyers. Only issue is this version only covers the classes up to 1980. There may be updated versions.
