Kirby Super Star, Nintendo SNES version, is a platformer that offers eight games in one cartridge. This includes seven different modes and several subgames. As with other Kirby games, players control the character, who floats around the screen inhaling enemies in order to gain their attacks and abilities. This is the first game in the series to introduce Helpers, which are enemies-turned-allies that can be controlled by the computer or by an additional player. These helpers assist Kirby as he makes his way across varying levels to challenge King Dedede, stops the Dyna Blade, races to eat as much food as possible, or destroys Meta Knight's battleship before it can conquer Dreamland. The challenges depend on the selected mode.This exciting product for Nintendo SNES has many different plots for each of its games. There's Kirby's Fight against The King who keeps stealing all of Dreamland's Food. There's Meta Knight's quest to become trained for battle. Then there are fun and quick mini-games like Megaton Punch and Samurai Kirby. In Spring Breeze ode, you have to get through four levels to get back the stolen food. In Dyna Blade, you defeat a giant bird to return to levels. In the Great Cave Offensive, you need to find 60 hidden treasures as you try to escape. In Revenge of Meta Knight, you need to destroy Meta's warship, also known as Halberd. This game is timed for an extra challenge. In Milky Way Wishes, you need to stop the sun and moon from fighting. In the Arena, you have to defeat all of the bosses.Kirby Super Star is based on a very popular game. It has impressive graphics and completely rendered cut scenes. There are countless adventures just waiting to be unlocked, and you can bet you’ll never have a dull moment while playing this game. Kirby, the Main character, can run, float, or even copy enemies. He uses his helpers in order to defeat enemies, such as King Dedede and Meta Knight. There are even new modes like Meta Knight Ultra and Revenge of the King. Of course, the classics like Milky Way Wishes and The Great Cave Offensive are still included in the game. Kirby can even turn his power into a computer-controlled buddy that you can control with another controller.Kirby Super Star for the Nintendo SNES version also has some newer game modes in addition to the classic ones. There are three newer touch-screen mini-games that are screen-controlled. These include Kirby on the Draw, Snack Tracks, and Play Kirby Card Swipe. They can be played with up to three of your friends via Download Play. Players can even go on fun adventures with a friend with the local wireless feature.This SNES version game cartridge is 8 inches by 4 inches by 10 inches, and it weighs 5 ounces. It is for one to four online players to play simultaneously and will accommodate one player in normal game mode. This classic game features 19 different abilities. The seller was really easy to communicate with and the game works perfectly! And the cartridge looks exactly like the pictures. As a funny side note, all three save slots were filled and with how far into the game the first two files were I didn't have the heart to delete them. Which left me with the last save file named Mom. So I deleted that file, but in her honor I kept the name when I started a new game. This was the right choice, playing link to the past as Mom is incredibly funny.

One of the two best Kirby games of all time
Kirby Super Star is a compilation, containing six main games in various styles, plus a couple of mini-games. Each one is distinctive in some way, yet they all retain the Kirby flavour and the first, Spring Breeze, is actually a colour remake of Kirby's Dream Land for the original Gameboy which retrofits the ability to copy enemy abilities. The game also has nicely-done co-op play, where a second player can join in as a helper, similar to Tails in the later Sonic games on the Sega Genesis. (However, it works better here, where the slower movement and the helper's ability to warp to player 1 at high speed remove the biggest wart to having the screen follow player 1 exclusively.) While Kirby's Adventure for the NES (or Nightmare in Dream Land, the remake on the Gameboy Advance with ... Kirby Super Star is a compilation, containing six main games in various styles, plus a couple of mini-games. At the very least, Adventure and Super Star are certainly the best of the earlier Kirby games. Unlike the first two Kirby's Dream Land games on the Gameboy, you get a full-colour experience with optional co-op (and you get an improved remake of the first one). Unlike Kirby and the Amazing Mirror for the Gameboy Advance, the co-op play doesn't feel like a gimmick that has engulfed the single-player mode, and the sub-games which have a branching world don't feel confusing. It's been too long since I played Kirby's Dream Land 3, but I remember it being noticeably more flawed and, besides, it's ridiculously expensive these days. As for Kirby 64, I just can't get over how sparse the world feels and how devoid of character the powers feel, compared to the 2D entries, even with the new combining mechanic.

What is there to say? Kirby Super Start is a classic which is also stood the test of time since it's release in 1996. There are a number of games to choose from, between the typical sidescroller adventures and minigames as well that both give you a slice of the Kirby experience that Nintendo gamers are known to love and enjoy. I didn't even have to flinch on this purchase -- every SNES enthusiast and gamer should have this title in their collection, no question.What is there to say? When people think of the Nintendo most tend to forget about Kirby myself included. Very solid title a must have for the retro game collector!
