Product Information

One of Konami's longest running sports franchises makes its U.S. debut in MLB Power Pros. Adopting the same "super-deformed" look that endears the series to Japanese audiences, the American version of Power Pros features MLB licensing for authentic players, teams, and stadiums. The game is otherwise an arcade-style take on the sport, with simplified controls and whimsical animations, from climbing catches and dramatic dives to funny facial expressions. The 162-game season is one of 12 different game types, with "Success Mode" being the most distinctive. Success Mode injects role-playing elements into America's pastime, as players guide a college athlete in his attempt to reach "the bigs." In addition to competing on the field, players must address such real-world issues as earning money, maintaining good grades, and dealing with social pressures.

    The video game and controllers were packaged very well and arrived within a few days. The items appear new or barely used, as shown and described in the ad. The cost of the items was similar to others; however, the seller included an additional game for free that uses the same controllers, which raised the value even more. The video game and controllers work well - even with my 2008 Wii console.

    Great Gameplay and Style

    Great game. Fun twist on the usual american baseball stuff. Love the simple animation and the chance to play through as your own created character from college to the majors. Fun little roleplaying bit with replayability. I originally played the 2008 first and wanted to try this one out. I loved them both.

    Can play the game. However, there's an error with the disc. "The game disc could not read", appears multiple times while playing the game. Can be resolved by ejecting and reinserting the disc. Very annoying.
