I think it would be fun if they offered this as files to print yourself so you could tinker with the design if you wanted. I upgraded the filter to a K&N one (This would also make a very nice upgrade option when ordering so you don't have to find it yourself). It has metal inserts every where it should and all the pieces fit together well. I think the price is a touch high but it's a specialty part that's hand made so it's fair in the end.

There are not a lot of 2 stage filtration systems for the Kohler 7000 series motors. They were able to create a system that seems to be pretty effective. I will update its effectiveness as I use it more this summer. The part looks like it is 3D printed but it is made of very good plastic. The 2 stage filters fit very snug. I did have to do some modifications but it worked out well.
