    Can't beat it for the price.

    We bought this for a trip to New Zealand. Overall, it preformed very well. Many of the smaller towns are not listed in it's program, but with some fooling around with a map and entering different names, we could always find our way to where we wanted to go. Also, many of the attractions, like certain waterfalls or beaches are not in it's memory, so a good guide books helps you to narrow down what you need to enter for directions. The driving instructions were very accurate for the most part. With it's pronunciation of the Maori place names it was very helpful to have a navigator running the GPS as you couldn't always understand a place name and had to look at the spelling. I have used better and worse GPS's, but for the money this is handy for travel to New Zealand. It would have been ...

    FREEDOM

    I love this Garmin Nuvi 206. I can finally find my way around!! I am horrible when it comes to finding my way any where without getting lost!! I've often made comments that I couldn't find my way out of a paper bag without directions!! I don't think I'm that bad...but with this Garmin I can go anywhere, I can visit my mom in GA, my sisters in VA, but closer to home I can finally go to church. I went to a church with neighbors a couple of times and both times they went a different way and when they couldn't go I couldn't either!! I plugged in the address and it took me right there!!! Soooo happy!!! The price was sooo affordable and it arrived quickly. And now I am stress free when I leave my home I know I'll be able to get where I'm going and back home again!!! The problem with it ...

    Just what I needed, easy to use.

    It's user-friendly, I was able to follow the screen prompts to navigate to an address with no difficulty. Screen is easy to read, got me where I wanted to go. I haven't tried updating the maps yet since most of my driving is local but it has that capability if I take any long distance trips.

    Garmin from trucking fleet use...

    This Garmin easily compares to the newer big boys. Advertised at $20- with plug-in capability only due to possible battery death. Mine runs on batt. as well, no problem. For the money I can't complain and it has all the updates I need! thnx.

    slow and Disappointing

    Purchased this unit for travelling in Italy, in the instructions it said to dis-able the North America maps which I did, but every time you make a wrong turn, in Italy, it has to reload maps as it can not hold enough in it memory. At times I felt like throwing the unit out the window as it was so frustrating waiting up to 2 min for the unit to reload. the unit does work quite well in Canada though but that was not why I purchased it. disappointing
