Quintessential American singer/songwriter John Prine returns with FAIR & SQUARE. With the occasional wheezing accordion, curlicue electric guitar parts, quick-wristed mandolins, billowing B-3 pads and puddles of pedal steel guitar, the rough-voiced singer/songwriter's first self-produced record is a homey affair that draws generously from the palette of traditional American music, be it folk, bluegrass, shuffles, vintage rock & roll, torch, country for an amalgamation that would be at home on any Wurlitzer in a whiskey-soaked tavern with beer signs flicker from age and the walls stained deeper than sepia from the years of constant smoke.

    Stupidly I did not check feedback for this seller (usually I do) and I have the same issue as many others - due to misleading description “Pack of 6” I thought I was buying 6 x boxes, but it was only 1 box which arrived smooshed. This cost me AUD$49! No response from seller. Seems to be a pattern here - AVOID THIS SELLER!

    Easy listening and a real story behind each song. Great to listen to during this pandemic. Relevant

    John Prine should be an American icon. More in tune than Bob Dylan. Sadly I will never get a chance to see him live. CD is excellent.

    Must have music for every cd library

    Great John Prine stuff - naturally ! A must to go with his latest release. The two must go together - you can't have one without the other. Great stuff that even us Baby Baby Boomers love. If you have never listened to John, this will get you hooked.

    JOHN PRINE FAIR & SQUARE

    John Prine was an incredible songwriter. His songs touched the soul of ones heart. I’ve been listening to his music since 1970. I’m thankful that we were able to see him more than once at the Mt Baker Theatre in Bellingham, Wa. Miss and love this man!
