    The author has a great track record of research, hands on cooking and the current leader in the correct way to prepare meals in this venue. I have followed his blogs and subscribed to his frequent recipes that he has supplied at no charge. The only thing he has ever charged for is his rub and sauce recipes, for which he asks only a pittance. His book is succinct and to the point. No fluff. Like old Joe Friday would say, "Just the facts." I have followed several gurus in my learning quest for quality meat smoking and hands down, Jeff is the leader. The facts provide simplicity and excellence.

    This is a well written book with easy to follow recipes for smoking. The author details types of smokers as well as helping one decide as to brine or not to brine, different rubs and recipes, bbq. sauce recipes, and approximate cook times (Can't be exact with a smoker), as well as recommended woods to smoke with depending on type of meat.
