Surf's Up: America's Band
I have loved the music of the Beach Boys ever since I was a teenager. I was born towards the end of the 1960's & so did not get the chance to revel in their music from the beginning. This Dvd catches me up from the beginning with the surf sound to Pet Sounds, then psychedelic late 60's and then the later years of tragedy, triump & resurgence. It also brought into focus the years when Brian Wilson stepped away from the limelight and into the studio, as well as, his time spent in seclusion. Great movies. Cheap disc.
These two documentaries are among my favorites. I watch The Beach Boys: An American Band every 4th of July. The Brian Wilson doc is a gem. The picture quality is quite poor though. The Brian Wilson film is ghosty and smudgy. Really too bad. I paid a ridiculously low price, so I can't really complain, but y'all out there should be warned. "Entertaining and Informative on their Real lives"
Wow... I always did like the Beach Boys yet never knew their background. This DVD offers a good account of each one of them, especially Brian. I'm so happy to add it to my collection and will watch again and again... I love their music.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
