Meet Me At The Coffee Shop -25 exquisite musical caffeine shots from three decades, songs and popular hits from 1940 to 1962. -Cross-genre, from jazz and pop to country, R&B and R'n'R, themes all about drinking coffee, enjoying it and dancing. -Let's meet for a coffee in the warm spring sunshine and enjoy this soundtrack on Bear Family Records®! -Since coffee is consumed worldwide, we present international artists from the USA, Peru, Italy and England, a mix of popular (such as Bill Haley, Peggy Lee and the Ink Spots) and lesser-known performers. -The full-color 16-page booklet includes notes on each song by producer Marc Mittelacher and is richly illustrated! Isn't it wonderful to drink a hot, invigorating espresso or simply a cup of coffee outside a café in the warm spring sun or in summer, or inside in front of the fireplace in winter, and listen to beautiful nostalgic music to go with it? With this compilation, we provide the perfect sound that occasionally motivates you to dance, whether we meet in a coffee shop or in one of the nostalgic coffee houses. From cozy jazz and easy listening to muscle-twitching rock 'n' roll, there's always something extravagant about this compilation! This CD compilation has it all. We present a wide range of music from 1940 to 1962. The oldest recording is the Java Jive by the Ink Spots, a soft vocal sound in a jazzy atmosphere and, last but not least, Java also stands for coffee! Country music in it's traditional form is provided by Jerry Irby, Billy Briggs and Speedy West & Jimmy Bryant. Hot rock'n'roll and rockabilly numbers come from Bill Haley, Glen Glenn, Boots 'Randy' Randolph, Ken Jones' Rock 'n' Rollers and many more. There is also a lot to discover from pop to R&B such as famous classics by Peggy Lee (Black Coffee) or Danny Overbea's hit song Forty Cups Of Coffee in two versions that couldn't be more different, by Bill Haley & His Comets and the Les Brown Orchestra with Jo-Anne Greer on vocals.
