After reconnecting the heat sink with a proper thermal paste and adding thermal pads to some component, everything started to work just fine. The quality obviously has problems but fortunately it was fixable. It is a very bad idea to have one listing for completely different items.

I was certainly worried to make such a large person online, but the product is exactly as advertised. It took a bit longer to send out for shipping than I'd have liked, but once it went out, it made it to me in about 3-4 days. So far all benchmarks are coming out clean! Note: Seal on the graphics box card (not the package) was broken, but the product still appeared new with no blemishes or defects.
