The fit is snug on both the tool and the battery. I found that batteries must be firmly pressed into the adapter to fully engage the spring-loaded latches. The only downside is not all M18 tools are compatible since the adapter does not have the exact profile of a battery. This prevents full insertion on some tools. Overall, the unit appears to be well built and durable.
