"An engaging book with current and balanced treatment of all areas of child development." --MARTHA ARTERBERRY, Colby College "This is a textbook that students actually like to read." --SHAYLA HOLUB, University of Texas, Dallas "Comprehensive but readable. Strong connection between research/concepts and how they apply to children in the real world." --MEGAN MCLELLAND, Oregon State University "The cultural diversity representations and references are one of the major strengths of this text ... and one of the major reasons I would select it. The content provides the essential basics for what students need to know and presents the information in ways that are relevant, contemporary in application, and backed by solid research." --KAREN PETERSON, University of Washington, Vancouver "A very informative, high-quality, and classy text. It is exceedingly well researched." --ROBERT HILTONSMITH, Radford University "The coverage of diversity and multicultural issues ... is one of the strengths of the text and one of the most important reasons that I adopt it for my course on child development." --KRISTY BURKHOLDER, University of Wisconsin, Madison "This text has the best coverage of diversity and multicultural issues of any text on the market." --DEBBIE LAIBLE, Lehigh University "I love the pedagogy of this text--I wouldn't change it. I think the features ... are very helpful in breaking up the text and supporting student learning." --TOM POWER, Washington State University, "An engaging book with current and balanced treatment of all areas of child development." -MARTHA ARTERBERRY, Colby College "This is a textbook that students actually like to read." -SHAYLA HOLUB, University of Texas, Dallas "Comprehensive but readable. Synopsis
Berk's signature storytelling style invites students to actively learn beside the text's "characters" who share their influential experiences and developmental milestones. Students are provided with an exceptionally clear and coherent understanding of child development, emphasizing the interrelatedness of all domains--physical, cognitive, emotional, and social--throughout the text narrative and in special features. Focusing on education and social policy as critical pieces of the dynamic system in which the child develops, Berk pays meticulous attention to the most recent scholarship in the field. Berk helps students connect their learning to their personal and professional areas of interest and their future pursuits as parents, educators, heath care providers, counselors, social workers, and researchers.   This is the standalone book if you want the book/access card order the ISBN below:   0205058299 / 9780205058297 Infants, Children, and Adolescents & MyDevelopmentLab with Pearson eText -- Access Card Package Package consists of 0205669115 / 9780205669110 MyDevelopmentLab with Pearson eText -- Valuepack Access Card 0205718167 / 9780205718160 Infants, Children, and Adolescents, Berk s signature storytelling style invites students to actively learn beside the text s characters who share their influential experiences and developmental milestones. Unfortunately I received a damaged book, the item and the package both were damaged and it was clearly evident its appearance that it happened during transit. The seller was very understanding and gave me a full refund for the damaged book, though it was no fault of their own. Other than the damage, the book was as described, the quality and condition aside from the damaged spot was like new. The cost of the book was reasonable. I would definitely purchase from the seller again.

Although this book was not as described, with no picture of it in the listing, the seller communicated well and quickly gave me a full refund while letting me keep it. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate.

I recently purchased an item from this eBay seller, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the prompt communication to the fast shipping, everything was handled with utmost professionalism. The item arrived exactly as described and was well-packaged to ensure its safety during transit. The seller was courteous and responsive, making the entire transaction smooth and hassle-free. I highly recommend this seller to anyone looking for quality products and excellent service.

Got this book for my Child Development class. The book has great information on a child’s development through life and how us adults are able to understand those steps. The book information is great!
