Having to replace the battery every 3 months, decided to connect 4 batteries in parallel, so hopefully once a year. Some modification to wiring needs to be done of course. The clock manufacturers need to fit a higher wattage battery in the first place, when there is room available.

Holders are a little flimsier than expected but should do the job for which they were bought, only time will tell if they are OK. Switch on one seemed inoperative at first but this was due to a short between switch contacts, short removed and switch now working.
