Limited vinyl LP pressing. Around The World In A Day is the seventh studio album by Prince, and the second to feature his backing band The Revolution. It was released on April 21, 1985 by Paisley Park Records and Warner Bros. Records. Departing somewhat from the commercial sound of his previous release, the massively successful Purple Rain (1984), the album instead saw Prince experimenting with psychedelic styles and more opulent textures. In compliance with Prince's wishes, the record company released the album with minimal publicity, withholding accompanying singles until almost a month after the album's release. Around the World became Prince and the Revolution's second #1 album on the Billboard 200. Two of it's four singles reached the Top 10: "Raspberry Beret" and "Pop Life".

    For context, the government is shut down and the US Postal Service has been a bit sluggish during Oct. 2025 Despite that, a tracking number was provided quickly and shipping was quite prompt. The LP was brand new (and worth the price, a very high quality pressing!) as described with 0 damage to package, cellophane, etc. The LP was packed in a brand new LP-sized media-mailer with a tear-off for easy opening and no risk of damage from a knife. These guys really know their stuff! A++

    Around The World In A Day

    After Purple Rain and before Parade. How do you follow up a piece of work like that (with accompanying feature length movie that’s just as much rock landmark as the album)??? Around The World In A Day. I would guess that Paisley Park property was acquired sometime around or during release and promo of Purple Rain. I’m sure it was ON on 😬😳at Prince’s base of operations at that time. Kinda on the psychedelic side. Real funky in spots. I think two singles were on point. (RaspberryBeret, Pop Life). Plays through well. A: It’s with The Revolution still (+1). B: It’s a fun album and I think that they probably had a good time doing it. C: I’ve always liked this one a lot since cassettes, IF: I’m in the mood for it . D: You probably know what you’re looking at anyway and know Princes’ ...
