    Worth while add-on to a Floyd Rose

    I have two guitars with a Floyd Rose, a Les Paul Studio and an SE Custom 24. An issue I had with both was that the sound was quite fuzzy and I couldn't quite get a good sustained tone. I looked up on solutions and came up with a heavier trem block. So I bought one of these, and I loved it! It's absolutely fantastic, the tone improved greatly and the unwanted fuzz is almost gone completely, so I bought another one and installed it in both. If you have a Floyd but don't much like how your tone isn't being sustained, I suggest buying a heavy brass block for your trem body. the come in different sizes, I choose the heaviest one I could find, so you might want to experiment

    Floyd Block

    This is a very high quality block, nice and heavy. I am not a guitar tech or anything and ordered it to put on a cheaper Chinese made (I think) licensed floyd. I didn't even think about the size of the block mounting screws being different. If you order one, make sure the screws you have will fit. This was in no way the sellers fault, it was my lack of knowledge. I can't wait to find the right screws and install this bad boy, its nice a solid/heavy. Should be a real improvement. If for some reason I can't make it work, I'll sell it on ebay an probably only be out a few bucks. The initial purchase price is very reasonable.

    More sustain. More!

    Does what it says it does, increase the sustain of your Floyd Rose equipped guitar. Nicely machined and of course fits perfectly in your Floyd Rose (check first for some of the off brand ones which may have slightly different screw holes). A bit pricey for what it is (chunk of brass with some holes in it!), but it's definitely a buy once and it will last forever type product.

    Improvement in tone and sustain

    I recently bought a used PRS Torero. Great guitar, but it had a lot of fizzy, unusable treble. I dropped a 42mm brass block in and took out the 32mm steel block (Clearance is tight and I don't recommend this, but it works for me. I think a 37mm would clear just fine). Big improvement in tone and and a boost in smooth, even sustain across the strings. The string to string balance and clarity are similar to what you get on a good quality set neck guitar with a tune o matic. I am very pleased. Now my guitar has really rich resonance and chugs and grinds for days.

    42mm Brass Block is great!

    While playing lead or riffing around when practicing the strings keep ringing the notes for a longer time after installing this 42mm brass sustain block. The original one was a 37mm brass block and this 42mm one is about 3/16 to 1/4 inch longer. It makes a noticeable and pleasant improvement to the sound of the guitar. Chords ring a little longer too. I'm using .010 through .046 strings. Only downside if you want to call it that is I can't put the rectangular plastic cover over the tremolo springs and this brass block back on the guitar with it now. If my guitar was a little thicker that would not be an issue. At the same time a lot of people leave the plastic cover off because it's much easier to restring the guitar without it or replace a broken high E string when they break. The ...
