Set in a time when airships still ruled the skies and World War II never happened, KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE is a coming-of-age tale that explores the difficulties of being a young witch. On her thirteenth birthday, budding witch Kiki is in a hurry to leave her family and establish her independence. With only her talking pet cat as a companion, Kiki is attracted to the bright lights of a beautiful port city, but finds that making friends is not easy. Using her skill at riding a broom to start an express delivery service, Kiki quickly discovers that she cannot take her unique abilities for granted. The film is based on the book MAJO NO TAKKYUBIN by Eiko Kadono, a Japanese writer of children's books; the title literally means "Witch's Special Express Delivery." Like Miyazaki's MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO, KIKI is languidly paced--the better to appreciate the level of detail of the film's animation. KIKI differs from the typical "witch" film, like THE CRAFT: Kiki's abilities serve not as a symbol for evil or for ultimate power, but for the talents that lie within the reach of every girl. The film was dubbed in English by several prominent actors, including Kirsten Dunst, Phil Hartman, Janeane Garofalo, and Debbie Reynolds.

    The bowls were just as pictured and arrived safely. Shipping was a little slow, but it was USPS, so it was expected. The packaging was good, with a layer of packing foam between the two bowls and then this encased in an inner cardboard enclosure that was securely taped. This was inside another box, with paper filler. The value of these for me is priceless. I had a bowl like this that was my grandmother's, and it got dropped. it was in too many pieces to fix. This is just what I wanted!

    I picked up the Folklore sweater from a reseller, and the whole experience was amazing. The sweater arrived quickly, was packaged well, and looked exactly like the official one. It’s incredibly soft, cozy, and has that perfect Folklore aesthetic. I didn’t need to ask any questions because the seller’s description was spot-on, and everything came just as promised. I’m really glad I bought it through them — the sweater is beautiful and has already become one of my favorites. Highly recommend both

    A top-10 kid's movie (of all time)

    This is my son's favorite children's movie, period. It is strange and wonderful and a delight for me, as well. Definitely opt for the "old" 2003 DVD. It includes several fun things apparently cut in the Blu-Ray/DVD re-release. These include a couple of catchy songs and more pertinently, a number of saucy lines delivered by the Phil Hartman–voiced cat, Jiji. His voiceover work here is one of the main strengths of the English dub, so you definitely want to hear all he had to offer. RIP, brilliant Phil.

    Great Condition

    Product exactly as described and practically like new. Little to no signs of wear. Discs were 100% playable and unscratched. This is the original version/release of kiki with added music and Jiji dialogue that the new releases are missing. This is a wonderful movie I am glad to have in my collection again.

    Amazing coming of age story for everyone

    One of the greatest coming of age stories of all time. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time, if not my favorite. The characters are very well-written, relatable, and realistic, the art and animation are great, the soundtrack is phenomenal, the plot is incredibly well-paced and presented, and the writing sounds very natural, yet not boring at all. Definitely worth a watch for anyone and everyone. Get this release (the 2003 DVD) because this is the best dub version IMO. The latest Disney re-releases removed some of Phil Hartman's hilarious improv for Jiji (the black cat) and the opening song is the original super slow Japanese one instead of the catchy, upbeat English one sung by Kirsten Dunst.

    Perfect condition...priced as it should be collectors value.

    Perfect condition disk case paper ads, movie works. Original release with original song "im gonna fly" when i watched as a kid. Coulda bought the used ones...but i couldnt risk it. Plan on buying new release Disney bluray, & combine its new better quality film with prefered original english audio on movie maker to burn out home made best entertainment. Maybe i can even go frame by frame & patch up fuzzy scenes white dots etc. RE-DRAW WHOLE MOVIE?! XD

    MUST SEE THIS MOVIE - ONE OF THE VERY BEST FROM STUDIO GHIBLI

    what can i say - i love this movie - the animation is awesome. the scene showing the bicycle racing downhill is among the most beautiful animated rides of all time. I love this first american version - had it first on VHS - and to me, without phil hartman as gigi, well. . .
