Lighter than 70-200 or 100-400 L
Although I have the 70-200 f/2.8 and the 100-400, I have found this Canon L lens the 'happy medium', great zoom, focuses close up, light, and fast to focus. It has become my workhorse.

working as expected. minor issue with dirty contacts but easily cleande. tested on focusing chart and is working great.

Great Lens
Took these lens to Tasmania with my EOS 60D Canon Took some fantastic photos,the more I used them on the camera the better I became on my photography Great value for the money

Great wide range telephoto
Excellent reach, fast focus but heavy. Image stabilised makes the lens usable hand held. Wide range telephoto is so versatile.

Great general purpose lens
An older style lens but it is so versatile when you have limited space for what you can carry. The only drawback is that it is not suited to combine with an extender.

Canon EF 70-300 IS USM
I purchased this lens so that I could get better sharper photos at a greater distance and it certainly does that. This lens is still light enough to leave on your camera when carrying it and is a great lens for the avid amateur - love it.
