The Flash: The Complete Series is a fun-filled action series that is based off of the Flash comic books. John Wesley Shipp plays a scientist named Barry who is transformed into a superhero called the Flash after his lab was struck by lightning. He and his colleague, Christina, played by Amanda Pays strive to use his new powers for the good of mankind. This action packed six-disc set contains all 21 episodes of the series. Some famous guest stars appear in this series, including Mark Hamill. The Flash: The Complete Series includes the 90-minute pilot as well, but this set does not include any extras. The total run time for this six-disc set is 1088 minutes, and The Flash: The Complete Series features closed captioning and subtitles, which can be displayed in three languages: English, Spanish, and French. This disc set is not rated. Viewers will enjoy watching the Flash battle corrupt officials, mobsters, and even some old arch enemies such as the Trickster and Captain Cold.

    Glad I purchased the series

    I really hate this only lasted one season. I really liked the whole comic book/superhero feel of the series. It does not have the modern day special effects, however, it focused more on being a superhero story than being a politically correct one trying to make a statement like the series of today. Mark Hamill made a good villian in a guest apperance as a joker type character reminding you of early Batman movies. It has plenty of bad guys trying to take over the city throughout and The Flash has his share of problems along the way. I actually like the doc (Tina) being his helper in figuring out his powers and limits. I would have liked to see them end up together had the series continued. There are lots of comic type lighting and a cool use of vintage cars mixed with modern day exotics. ...

    Such a Fun Nostalgic Time Capsule

    I was about 13-14 when this came out, and I remember loving it. Yet I never thought to revisit it as an adult (now in my kid 40’s) until now. Boy what a fun, engaging and exciting show. It’s a shame it only lasted a single season. But even so, I’m glad we at least have this. I love the bright neon-drenched aesthetic, and with the action, Danny Elfmans theme, a and that suit (which I much prefer over anything they’ve done since)!! Great series and so much nostalgic fun. Ira very 90’s, and it’s glorious. Sadly there are no extras on this set and it’s in full frame (standard for tv shows back then). But at such a great price, it’s not a big deal.

    Traditional comic book dramatization with high tech production values.

    Surprising that the current Flash series is so faux-serious. This older version is fun but has a lot of modern production value that holds up after quarter century. Not camp at all, but with a sense of genuine humor. I understand it was created to be put up against The Simpsons, and therefore did very badly in ratings. Fun show, deserved to stay on the air.
