    Enjoyable time-travel tale.

    Inventive, very entertaining film that seems to have been largely forgotten since its original release. Siblings Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon find themselves zapped back in time to the world of the 1950s black-and-white sitcom, "Pleasantville." How they adjust (or not) without interfering with the carefully scripted lives of the sitcom characters -- and ultimately how do they get back to their present-day reality -- is the essence of the story. A bit reminiscent of "Back to the Future," but with underlying themes of morality, repression and racism. Not as heavy as that may sound. And enjoyable and thought-provoking film.

    Great movie to share with your younger girl friends (around age 30)

    I loved this movie when it came out. Don Knots was on tv when I was a kid on the Andy Griffith Show. I bought this dvd to share with a younger girlfriend who had never seen it. She loved it!

    One of my favorite movies!

    I'm a big fan of vintage everything, so this movie is very visually appealing. It also has a great cast. It also has Don Knotts and Paul Walker, who were favorites who are dearly missed. I like the whole theme of the movie. It's definitely worth the cost. My DVD skipped a bit at the beginning, but it was minor, and since I still have an "old school" DVD player, I expect some skipping.
