This book is an excellent rendition of The Halloween Tree, a story by legendary author Ray Bradbury. I have the two previous versions of the book - both illustrated by Joseph Mugnaini. So when I heard there was a third version of the book, well, I had to look at it. Gris Grimly styles the art much differently than Mugnaini (although I should state that the two versions by Mugnaini are very different from each other). His work on the book brings a whole new aesthetic to the story that is very creative and unique. The book has black and white illustrations interspersed with beautiful color plates. Although it was published in 2015 (and Bradbury had passed on well before it), I have some Halloween themed bookplates that Ray signed a long time ago. I will place one inside the book. This is a treasured item that will last for a long, long time.
