Quirky British Humor
This used DVD based on the PBS/BBC series is pure eccentric British comedy. Each character's values and behavior contrasts utterly with the others', so each episode moves along smartly. In this series one, there is a different butler than in later episodes when the Father Brown show actor takes over. Empress, the (doted upon by one actor) prize-winning pig is here, as is the oft money-poor, flit-about nephew. The straight-laced, high society, domineering sister has a tough time keeping the others up to snuff. Wit, eccentricity, and mayhem on the country estate makes this series fun to watch; it can bear some repeated viewing. Recommended.

Ridiculously Entertaining British Romp
Straight-forward nonsense for folks who like to enjoy the Brits when they're fueled by high speed all out silliness. P.G. Wodehouse wields a series of vignettes about the deliciously zany antics of an aristocratic family, which is agreeably warped and wonderful. Clever acting by familiar talent (e.g., Timothy Spall, Mark Williams, and Jack Farthing) lure you into countryside soap opera challenges that tickle the funny bone. There's nothing to learn, remember, figure out, or understand. It's just one big romp! If you like slap stick of Birdie Wooster and his friends (e.g., Gussie Fink-Nottle), you'll find this series along the same lines. Simply good fun. Originally aired on BBC One in 2013.

Ten stars
Just a dynamite series. From the same story tank as Jeeves & Wooster, all the actors are perfectly cast I think and there is hardly not one not-funny moment. It's really refreshing to watch something light from a lighter era with current tech giving it that nice presentation edge. Anyone with some taste won't be disappointed. You could show this to anyone but a biker I think.

One of the best British comedies
I don't know if I'm reviewing Blandings or the shipper. A+ to the shipper. A+ to Blandings-- one of the best British comedies, wish they'd make more!

Meh
The series is too formulaic. Characters are caricatures rather than developed personalities. Situations are too cute by half.
