Excellent Wide-Angle Zoom
This an excellent wide-angle zoom and the last of such DSLR lenses from Nikon. I intend to use it with my D850. I also have the phenomenal mirrorless Z 14-24mm for my Nikon Z cameras.

Bulky, heavy but SHARP with little distortion
I bought a Sigma 12-24mm Mk II as the Nikon 14-24mm sometimes not wide enough. Sigma's sharpness is nowhere near. Zoom lens's image quality usually not as good as prime but this is tiny bit sharper than the Nikon 14mm AF-D like Ken Rockwell reviewed. So it is bulky and heavy as well as not cheap but a great lens after all.
