ROOTS is one of the best things ever

The book is much better than the mini series
I just read the book and really enjoyed it, then ordered the Blu-ray of the mini series. I remember watching the TV mini series in 1977. The movie was good to see again but the book is much better. If you have not read the book, do your self a favor and read it. Everybody should watch this mini series!
One of the most important broadcasts on television ever. Television could be so great as a tool for learning but instead it has turned out to be a cash box for big corporations. You will never see a project on tv like roots again. The last place to look for good programimg on tv is PBS. Classic Movie Series
