can there be "a better rat trap"? Hell yeah there can be.
The olde iconic "V" VICTOR rat trap has been around for generations. It has always done its job. But the change to a plastic triggering platform has really improved the trap in my opinion. Other folks might disagree. In the plus column I would say that the best feature is that the plastic platform creates a larger area for the rat to trigger. However it is also prone to go off by itself after being set. I like to use a pecan with peanut butter and sprinkled with bird seed. Quite a combination, I know. However I sort of have to change my ways and now I omit the nut. Also I have to use relatively "hard" little chunks of peanut butter. All this said, I think I am the one, and not the trap that needs to adjust my baiting style. Great Product
These are so much easier to set than the regular victor rat traps without the yellow tray. I 'be been trying to find them and they don't seem to be available in the retail and hardware type stores. I believe that's because they are a professional product as you can set the sensitivity levels. I'm really glad I found them. Terrible design
Victor says this a professional model rat trap. I disagree. The bait tray is TOO BIG. The rat trips the trap before it is inside the trap far enough to be snapped. Only buy this trap if you are willing to do the modification to cut down the size of the bait tray to FIX the design issue. Once i did the MOD snap dead rat. 4 in one night.
I have a persistent problem with rats in my yard and garden. I've used various traps and caught some critters, but more keep coming. The instructions said that rats are shy. Bait traps, but don't set them. So I put peanut butter on 8 traps and set them all out. Next morning, the peanut butter was all gone. Repeat a second night. Third evening, I set the traps. In the morning I had caught 4! Since then the bait has not been taken. I either caught the whole gang or they are scared of my yard. For now. Might work good for large mice
Great Trap but it doesn't seem to have a strong enough spring to kill the Rat. Out of 3 times 1 rat got away and the other 2 were simply trapped by their heads but still moving around trying to escape. Not very humane as a spring trap should be.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
