SORRY I SPENT MY MONEY ON THIS! BUT THE BLUE RECYCLING BIN OUT BACK HAS COMPANY NOW....
The first volume, WARWORLD RISING, was just awesome! This book here just fails and crashes on a lot of levels. First, Daniel Sempere, an amazing Superman artist, only draws like one issue! And the artwork after that just pales in comparison. I, also, really didn't like or care for the heroes that Superman chose to go with him to Warworld. (Especially, the ones "who were in a relationship with each other" instantly made me want to throw this book away as hard as I could and as far as I could. Groan.) With the exception of the Enchantress (who was just horribly underused here), these mainly forgettable heroes were no match at all for Mongul and died horrifically. (Worse, still? Superman is responsible for their deaths. Double groan.) This didn't make any sense at all. Actually, this whole book visually looks like a bad medieval fever dream: chains, cages, pits, gladiator arenas and barbarian prisons with pointed hooks.
