Fixes the problem
I totally hate those nasty pop up drains in bathroom sinks. I never run a basin of water in the sink as I use an electric shaver. I get real tied of cleaning out drains with long hair (not mine!) that gets wrapped around the pop up mechanism. This solves the problem. The grid is sufficient to trap hair at the surface so it can be removed with a bit of toilet paper. Even though it is made in China, the quality seems acceptable. There is no magnetic material so I assume that it is most likely chrome plated brass or possibly stainless steel.
