The combination of these two technologies affords a high sensitivity level of ISO 51200, top full-resolution continuous shooting rate of 6 fps, and renders both still images and videos with notable image quality and clarity. Full HD 1080p video recording is supported in multiple frame rates up to 30 fps as well as HD 720p recording up to 60 fps. Video files are recorded in the high quality H.264 AVC/MPEG-4 codec and saved as .MOV files for easier sharing and editing. When recording video or making still imagery with live view, a 3.0 921k-dot LCD monitor is available and provides a wide viewing angle for improved composition in a variety of shooting positions. Benefitting the image quality is the SAFOX IXi+ autofocus system, which works to ensure sharp, accurate focus quickly and smoothly. Additionally, when working with manual focus, focus peaking is available to provide a more objective and comparable method of acquiring critical focus. Also contributing to image sharpness is in-camera sensor shift image stabilization, which reduces the appearance of camera shake by about three shutter speed steps when working in low-light conditions or with longer focal length lenses.Product Identifiers

hard to find fault with a K-50
The K-50 only differs from the top-level Pentax bodies by the absence of a few control buttons on the body. With the Info quick menu that's hardly a problem now. It has weather seals, two control dials, pentaPrism viewfinder and the well-liked 16Mpixel sensor. More modern bodies have removed the AA filter but a pinch of sharpening in any software makes that an issue only for the pixel-obsessed. If anything is faulted with Pentax items it's their charger, which requires a four-foot cord to work. This camera was lacking that, so for $18 I now have a generic charger that needs no cord (plus a 12v adapter!) and a spare battery. Perfect replacement
This camera was purchased to replace the identical model that was broken from a fall. It was listed as new/unused and received as such, it did have minimal shutter actuations. Good Buy.
We had an older one just like it but which had fallen on pavement and damaged. Already having all the accessories for THAT particular model camera along with the working knowledge made it a " BEST BUY" In retrospect though all the info with the camera was in Japanese and impossible to read.
