The EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM telephoto zoom lens has been developed to meet the high-performance standards that today's photographers demand. Image Stabilizer Technology provides up to three stops of shake correction, and the Mode 2 option stabilizes images while panning with a moving subject. Compared to the original Canon EF 75-300mm IS zoom lens, this telephoto lens has faster auto focus, and overall the lens is lighter and has a smaller diameter than the original. The zoom ring can be locked at the 70mm position, making this powerful lens easy to transport, too.

    This is a very impressive seller. Communication was quick and concise. No shipping delays. The product is exceptionally clean and the packing was second to none.     Decent lower priced alternative to the L glass

    It is a bit noisy when using the image stabilization, but it works as advertised. Paired with the 6D I consider it slow to focus. I am not trying to shoot sports or other very fast activities, so there's no real heartache about it, but it's worth noting. i used to own the non IS version of the 75-300, and I like the bit of latitude in low light situations that the IS offers. Decently sharp images even at 4.0. Good value.

    It is the lens I was looking for.

    This lens is a perfect mate to my 24-104mm lens as it give a smooth transition from 24 all the way to 300 mm of crisp, sharp images. I have found it easy to focus manually with my EOS R, and thus more stable for HDR imaging.

    Great image quality but USM motor is audible

    This is my first experience with a USM lens. It was really amazing to work with. The image quality is great, it's very fast to autofocus - faster than the EF-S lenses I have. I wanted to upgrade from replace my ancient 70-300mm EF without image stabilization because it was slow to autofocus) - This lens is several steps up in all areas. Can't wait to use it for birds and other wildlife. My only negative is that the image stabilizer motor definitely makes an audible noise - so it's a drawback for video work. Hence the 4-stars instead of 5.

    Good quality, Great Value

    Great value, love the image stabilizer feature on the lens. Lens does "wind out" out to full length when carrying, so you need to put on the lock feature to prevent this.

    Good Lens

    I own a couple of L series lenses, so I may be a little spoiled. However, for the price, this is a geat value! I mostly do outdoor sports, so the f stop on this lens is reasonable for daylight. I may not pull this one out for my indoor or evening shoots. I was looking to add something with a higher zoom to my bag, and this does the job quite well.
