Reviews4 Stars - Excellent - "...MARIA MULDAUR inhabits similar territory to the '70s albums of Ry Cooder--unself- conscientously examining the roots of Americana, rock 'n' roll, blues, country and jazz..."
I consider myself lucky to have got this CD, as it's not that easy to get any more. I made its acquaintance and grew to love it in the 1970s when it seemed to me Maria Muldaur's singing and songs uniquely captured the sweet folksy culture and musical beat of life in rural Tennessee. It's still a joy to hear In My Tennessee Mountain Home, Any Ol' Time, Three Dollar Bill, in fact nearly all the songs on this album. Lovin' it.
Having seen Maria Muldaur perform in around 2012, I have long wanted to have a copy of Midnight as the Oasis & that is mainly why I bought this album. However, both partner & I are greatly enjoying all of the tracks. The cd is very good quality too, so I do recommend it to anyone with any interest in either Maria's work or music of the genres she covers.
