Boring
A visually stunning film but very slow and not very scary for a "horror" film. Good movie but expected more I guess. If you just watch the trailer, you will pretty much see all the good bits. Again a beautifully visual film but I couldn't watch it over and over for just that. Good movie to rent or stream but regret adding to my collection. This is just my personal opinion. I love Del Toro's films!

Great movie
Crimson Peak is a great movie. Some horror fans may find the story a little slow, but it is a very engaging ghost story. If you've like Del Toro's other movies you'll like this one too.

Directed by Guillermo del Toro made a masterpiece.
This is a romantic gothic horror that will no doubt become a classic. I was really looking forward to the release of this movie because del Toro was the director, and I wasn't disappointed. The setting was awesome and scary but not nearly as scary as the characters. del Toro spared no expense creating a spooky atmosphere of light and dark. There is mystery, hints of madness, and a strange love triangle that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Great Movie
I really like this movie, the story line is great, keeps you in suspense all through the movie until the end wondering who's going to make it through alive plus the costumes are absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed this movie and had to buy it.

Excellent
This is a truly great movie. The visuals in this movie are spectacular and the costuming is amazing. I was surprised this film didn't get a bunch of awards for those things alone. The actors did a good job, too. The story was gothic and fairly predictable, but the actors did well making this ghost story believable.

sexy & scary at the same time.
I LOVE this movie! Every time it came out on TV, I would watch it again. I think Tom Hiddleston is a sexy & very entertaining man. I also liked him in I saw the light.

not quite boring.
from the trailers I expected a moody exotic ghost story. The movie will not put you to sleep but the wasted potential will break your heart. the story eventually seems like a semi-interesting TV show. rent it do not buy it.

Really good movie!
This is a superior mystery/ghost story with excellent photography, storyline, and acting. I followed it much easier with closed caption on, finding that it really helped with some low volume scenes and accents as well. This one was VERY under-rated on all fronts.
