Riveting tedium from Robert Altman
"3 Women" appears to be a character study of the two leads, played by Shelley Duvall and Sissy Spacek, as the self-absorbed and socially clueless Duvall trains the naive Spacek on her duties as a senior center aide. But what might have been the tedious details of small-town daily life soon becomes an ominous peek into a warped reality.
